A three man panel of the Court of Appeal delivered a unanimous decision upholding an earlier judgment delivered on the suit by an Abuja High Court presided by Justice Danlami Senchi which held that the court lacked jurisdiction to interfere in the selection of process of nominating a candidate by a Political Party. The appellate court in its judgment held that the issue before the court is one that seeks to invite the court to dabble into an internal affair of a political party and further observed that the appeal filled by Mr. Valentine Ozoigbo and his companion was one which called for a judicial interference in a political question which is not justiceable. The court rammed the nail into the appellants coffin which it insisted that nomination of a candidate by a political party, whether by means of selection, election. Adoption or by which ever means, is within the exclusive purview of that political party which no court can interfere with. With this victory, all hurdles have been cleared off the way of Prof Charles Soludo to intensify his campaigns to woo voters in Anambra state for the forthcoming election. |
