On behalf of the Government, the Sultanate Council and the good people of Sokoto State, I wish to express my profound gratitude and unquantifiable appreciation to all those who commiserated with us over the ill-fated ADC plane crash that claimed the lives of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido Abubakar III, the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Garba Mohammed mni, Senators Badamasi Mohammad Maccido and Sule Yari Gandi as well as State Commissioner of Education, Dr Sanusi Usman Junaidu and other prominent sons and daughters of Sokoto State. 

 

2.  Our heart-felt appreciation goes to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, President of the Senate Ken Nnamani, Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, Deputy Senate President Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Senate Leader Alhaji Dalhatu Sarki Tafida as well as former President and Heads of State, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida,General Muhammadu Buhari,General Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Chief Justice of the Federation.

 

 

 

  3.  Our Special thanks also go to His Eminence the King of Morocco Sheikh Mohammed Sadees who sent in a seventy-man delegation led by the Minister of Religious Affairs and the country’s Ambassador to Nigeria to condole us on this tragic incident, we also thank the Libyan President Col. Muhammadu Gaddafi who sent a higher powered delegation to condole us.   

 

4.  Our sincere appreciation also goes to the Governments of United States of America, United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and Niger Republic who sent in messages of condolence through their Ambassadors.   

 

5.  Similarly, our appreciation goes to my colleagues, the Governors of Kebbi, Zamfara, Niger, Kano, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Kaduna, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Kogi, Benue, Katsina, Abia, Nasarawa, Taraba, Kwara, Bauchi, Plateau, Ogun, Lagos, Osun and Delta States   

 

6.  Our gratitude also goes to all former Governors and Military Administrators of the defunct North Western State, former and present Sokoto State.   

 

7.  Similarly our heart-felt appreciation goes to all members of the National Assembly, Ministers of the Federal Republic, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Head of Service of the Federation, former National Security Advisers, General Aliyu Mohammed Gusau and Alhaji Ismail Gwarzo, Ambassadors of Arabs and West African countries in Nigeria,  Prime Minister of Niger Republic, Hamma Ahmadu and Governors of Tahoua and Maradi in Niger Republic.   

 

8.  Our thanks also goes to the National Leadership of the DPP, PDP, ANPP, UNDP and all other Leaders of political parties who either came in person or sent messages of condolence on this tragic incident.    

 

9.  Similarly, we also wish to express our appreciation to all our Royal Highnesses, Emirs and Chiefs who found time to visit us to condole us over this tragic death.  We thank all those individuals and groups who took their time to come to Sokoto to share this moment of grief with us including, our esteemed religious and community leaders.  We are also grateful to Controller General of Customs, Group Managing Director NNPC, Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority, Chairman EFCC, Chairman Revenue Mobilisation and Allocation Commission, Chairman Dangote Group of Companies, Chairman Dantata Group of Companies, Secretary General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Chief Lateef Adiegbite, Baba Addini of Yorubaland, Chief Chris Uba as well as politicians, businessmen   and other Non-Governmental Organisations.
