 Mr. Ogbonna Onovo The Nigeria Police Force this morning received a very strong tongue lashing from an Abuja court for its incessant infringement on citizens’ fundamental human rights. Consequent upon this attitude and coupled with the force’ penchant for flouting court orders, an Abuja court has directed all law enforcement agencies in the country to effect the arrest and committal to prison of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo.

Ahead of skimming by politicians to clinch power in the 2011 general elections, dare devil kidnappers who abducted the son of Nigeria ’s late Prime Minister Dr. Jhalil Tafawa Balewa late Friday in Abuja have been apprehended by men of the Nigerian Police.

Some offices in the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were engulfed fire this morning. The fire at the Wadata House, zone 5, Wuse, Abuja, according to eyewitnesses, started from one office on the second floor at around 9.45am local time. |

ONE of the radical civil society networks in the Niger Delta, Nigeria's main oil and gas region, says they are not in support of President Goodluck Jonathan, contesting in the 2011 presidential polls. They are rather spoiling for former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangidas, who dominated the country for eight years (1985-1993).
