 Chief Chekwas Okorie The Supreme Court this morning advised the embattled founding Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); Chief Chekwas Okorie to seek political solution in his bid to wrest the leadership of the crisis - ridden party from Chief Victor Umeh as he lacks the legal right to stop Chief Umeh led leadership of the party from convoking the party’s National convention.

Teachers in Rivers, Abia States set for strike |

Following the failure of governments of Rivers and Abia states to implement the 27.5 per cent enhanced teacher’s emolument agreed upon between the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and Governors Forum in 2008, the National Executive Council (NEC) of NUT has directed primary and secondary school teachers in the two states to proceed on indefinite strike action to join their counterparts in Oyo state, who are already on strike, over the refusal of Oyo state government to implement the same agreement.

A temporary set back was suffered by the suspended House of Representatives members who were recently suspended by their colleagues for their unruly conduct in what has become the greatest show of shame in the House in recent times, as a Federal High Court declined to acquiesce to an oral application made by their counsel; Mr. Femi Falana for them to be allowed access to the Chambers of the House of Representatives to participate in the deliberations going on in the interest of the constituencies they were elected to represent.

Embattled former Deputy of Bayelsa state; Mr. Peremobowei Ebibi today suffered a set back in his bid to get a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to restrain the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the State Security Service and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission from arresting, interrogating or detaining him over a mountain of financial misappropriation allegations upon which he was recently kicked out of office by the Bayelsa state House of Assembly.

 Evans Chukwuma Ebbe Sunday May 2, 2010 was ordinary just like any other day in the household of Kingsley Osualla. The only little excitement expected that day was the thanksgiving service for his aunty, Madam Ebbe. Her son and Kingsley’s cousin, Evans Chukwuma Ebbe, a high ranking mobile police force officer, had organized a thanksgiving service for Madam Ebbe.
