The first lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, has called the opposition party, All Progressive Congress, APC, an adulterated drug.
Speaking at a presidential women rally of the People’s Democratic Party, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Mrs. Jonathan who campaigned for her husband said the opposition was a disaster set to happen if allowed in Nigeria.
“No Rivers people will go for a drug that oyibo –white people – have rejected,” Mrs. Jonathan said.
Accusing the present state administration of siphoning fund meant of the populace, she also advised the women at the rally to inquire from the present governor, Rotimi Amaechi, of their rights.
“My sisters shine your eyes o; vote them out. Let your rightful thing reach you. Ask them where is your SURE-P is; ask them where is your YouWin,” she said.
He also told the women to guard their Permanent Voter’s Cards which symbolizes their right to choose a desired candidate.
“Don’t let them steal your card,” she said.
She urged Rivers State women to disregard lies and deceit sold to them by the opposition party, recalling that the Mr. Ameachi who decamped to APC after a brawl with the party stole the state’s party mandate meant for the candidate, Celestine Omehia who won the party’s primaries and was later removed as Rivers State governor following court’s ruling in favour of Mr. Amaechi.
Mrs. Jonathan confirmed that despite the accusations and insults raided on her and her husband – Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan – she would never descend low to exchange words with the opposition.
“They stole our mandate, the opposition stole our mandate; PDP never lies, PDP never insult people, PDP born good children,” she said. “I will not descend so low to go into the rascality issues.”
Ending her campaign in a song, the first lady told the women that voting the APC presidential flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari, would mean getting chain shackles on their wrist and opening their path to prisons.
